Grief | Spiritual/New Age |Traditional Religious | Self-Help/Inspirational | Poetry/Music | For Siblings | Teens

These are death-related books for children at various ages and are specifically-focused on the death of a brother or sister. The descriptions are to give you some type of guidance concerning topics, themes, and reading levels. Some of the recommendations were put together by Charles A. Corr, Ph.D., CT. Others are books recommended by many others who found them hopeful and helpful.

We recommend, as does Dr. Corr, that you examine the descriptions yourself to determine their strengths, weaknesses, and suitability for your specific child because not every book is appropriate for every child or situation. We recommend, depending upon the age of the child of course, that you either make the book available to your child to read or, better yet, read it with him or her.

Another good source for information on these books and on related literature for children and adults is the Centering Corporation, 402-553-1200, www.centering.org . PLEASE let us know if you would like us to add a book to this section.
